Taste of Eatonton
The Eatonton-Putnam Chamber of Commerce's Tenth Annual Taste of Eatonton was held Monday, Oct. 5 at the Plaza Arts Center. Everyone enjoyed delicious food from over twenty restaurants, fellowship and family fun in historic downtown Eatonton.
The Dairy Festival, sponsored by The Pilot Club of Eatonton, was held June 6. The day started with a one mile fun run and 10 K road race, sponsored by Farmers & Merchants Bank, a parade, free milk and ice cream, and a day full of activities around the square.
Networking @ Noon Sponsored by Cuscowilla on Lake Oconee
The Chamber held Networking @ Noon on Sept. 16. The networking event was sponsored by Cuscowilla on Lake Oconee and took place in the Waterside Restaurant. Chamber Partners learned about what's going on at the Chamber, Cuscowilla and engaged in three types of networking: table, commercials and general. Business After Hours at Kingston on Lake Oconee
Business After Hours was held Sept. 10 at Kingston on Lake Oconee. Attendees entered their business card for a chance to win a $100 American Express Gift Card; the winner was Reggie Gustafson of Boats with Gusto. The Chamber continued its two activities: a 50/50 cash raffle won by Stan Brady of the Pines of Eatonton and a Networking Scavenger Hunt won by Jaclynn Smith of Nichols, Cauley & Associates, LLC. Business After Hours at Plumbing Distributors, Inc.
Business After Hours was held July 9 at Plumbing Distributors, Inc. PDI is the largest family owned and operated distributor of residential and commercial plumbing and lighting products in Georgia and is dedicated to superior customer service. Over 70 attendees entered their business card for a chance to win a ceiling fan; the winner was Jim Richardson of Bella Maria. The Chamber introduced two new activities: a 50/50 cash raffle won by Tom Wooten of Georgia Forestry Commission and a Networking Scavenger Hunt won by Candice Mauldin of Putnam General Hospital. AM Exchange June 2009
AM Exchange is a tri-county networking event with members of the chambers in Putnam, Morgan and Greene counties. This month's AM Exchange was hosted by the Eatonton-Putnam Chamber and held at the Lake Oconee Branch of Farmers & Merchants Bank.
Simmons and McCullough Attend Marketing College
Bonnie Simmons the Tourism Manager of the Eatonton-Putnam Chamber of Commerce and Mandy McCullough the Regional Tourism Representative for the Georgia Department of Economic Development have completed the second portion of a three-year professional development program that will lead to certification as a Tourism Marketing Professional (TMP).

The Eatonton-Putnam Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting ceremony with Orchard Brands Co. on Sept. 30 to celebrate the opening of the new distribution center. Orchard Brands, based out of Beverly, MA, is a company that owns many apparel catalogers which serve a mature demographic. Haband Co. is one of these titles, which planted its distribution roots in Eatonton over 21 years ago.
Shuckers Seafood Bar & Grill Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
The Eatonton-Putnam Chamber of Commerce celebrated a ribbon cutting ceremony with Shuckers Bar & Grill on Friday, Sept. 11, celebrating the grand opening and new owners Terry and Janice McCannon. Shuckers is a family restaurant serving lunch and dinner, offering a full bar and entertainment.
McDonalds of Eatonton Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
The Eatonton-Putnam Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting ceremony with McDonald’s of Eatonton, celebrating the restaurant’s recent renovations on Sept. 9. McDonald's of Eatonton is a quick service restaurant serving hamburgers, chicken, World Famous French Fries, breakfast, desserts and most recently, specialty coffees.
Pretty In Pink Boutique Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
The Eatonton-Putnam Chamber of Commerce celebrated a ribbon cutting ceremony with Pretty in Pink on Sept. 4. The new boutique offers intimate apparel for women dealing with cancer, including mastectomy prostheses and wigs, as well as bras and fittings for all women.
Pinnacle Credit Union Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
The Eatonton-Putnam Chamber of Commerce celebrated a ribbon cutting ceremony with Pinnacle Credit Union in honor of the new Putnam County Branch on Aug. 28. The credit union offers savings, free checking with direct deposit, certificates of deposit, money market, kid’s club and IRAs; free on-line banking and bill pay; signature, auto, home equity and mortgage loans; and Visa Credit Cards.

The Eatonton-Putnam Chamber of Commerce celebrated a ribbon cutting ceremony with Advanced Safety Consultants on Aug. 25. The company provides a full array of safety OSHA compliant services ranging from employee training to full company safety audits for local businesses. The targeted audiences are the construction industry and industrial sector.
Cheerful Hearts Ministry Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
The Eatonton-Putnam Chamber of Commerce celebrated a ribbon cutting ceremony with Cheerful Hearts Ministry on Aug. 21. Cheerful Hearts Ministry is a non-profit organization offering ministry to women in four different ways: teas, speaking engagements, retreats and pastoral counseling.

Nearly 100 Chamber Partners attended the Lunch N Learn: Why Customer Service is Not Enough on Aug. 19. Everyone expressed their gratitude to the Chamber for bringing professional development opportunities to our community so that businesses do not have to drive long distances to receive quality training.
Al Oberdeck Book Signing
The Eatonton-Putnam Chamber of Commerce invited the community to a book signing for local author Alan M. Oberdeck’s recently published book Lost in the Shadows on Saturday, Aug. 15 at The Plaza Arts Center. The book signing began with a “meet the author” session from 1:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. and Oberdeck signed books from 2 to 3 p.m.
Caring Companions Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
The Eatonton-Putnam Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting ceremony for Caring Companions on Aug. 13. Caring Companions offers assistance to the elderly with bathing, dressing, feeding, running errands, traveling to appointments, preparing food and other needs. Care is provided using certified caregivers in the privacy and comfort of one’s own home, available 24/7.
Gatewood's Athletic Training Facility Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
The Eatonton-Putnam Chamber of Commerce celebrated a ribbon cutting ceremony with Gatewood School in honor of the new Kaye Gregory Cheshire Girls Athletic Training Facility on Aug. 12.
Saltamacchio's Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
The Eatonton-Putnam Chamber of Commerce celebrated a ribbon cutting ceremony with Saltamacchio's Tang Soo Do Karate School on Thursday, July 9 in celebration of the new location on Scott Road. Saltamacchio’s offers Tang Soo Do Martial Arts Training, self defense classes and sells products associated with martial arts. The school previously operated next to Fitness Demands since 2005.

The Eatonton-Putnam Chamber of Commerce welcomes our summer intern Kelsie Funk. Kelsie, a native of Lilburn, GA, is a student at Georgia College & State University majoring in Mass Communication with a concentration in Public Relations and a minor in English.
